As hostility for the most prestigious Nigeria Women Football League NWFL kicks off on Wednesday November 26th 2025, Red-hot ladies from Edo State ,Edo Queens Football Club of Benin, is set to resume hostility with top NWFL giants as the 2025/2026
new season kicks off next month
In the communique released today after the Annual General Meeting AGM, held in Port Harcourt Rivers State, Edo Queens are drawn in Group A, alongside Bayelsa Queens, Rivers Angels, Adamawa Queens, Pacesetter Queens, Heartland Queens, Ekiti Queens, Naija Ratels, Ibom Angels, and Costmog Ladies.
The former WAFU-Champions will not leave any stone unturned as they get set for serious battle against their opponent in the new premiership season.
Edo Queens Bayelsa Queens, Rivers Angels, Heartland Queens, Ekiti Queens and Adamawa Queens are not new to each other in the round leather game.
Despite having Bayelsa Queens and Rivers Angels in their group, the Benin Queens are battle ready to give their opponents a run for their money. They are going into the new season with full determination, courage, zeal, positivity, discipline resilience and focus. The players are getting into the rhythm ready to soar.
Football like music, is an art form that transcend boundaries, dissolving the barriers of culture, age, race and tribe.
However, Edo Queens teeming football fans are optimistic of their darling team making it to the Super Super 6 in respective of the teams involve in group A.
Majority of Edo Queens followers have tipped the ancient city based ladies to top Group A, ahead Bayelsa Queens and Rivers Angels.
Moreso, their target is to win the league and return back to the continental level. (CAF).
Meanwhile Edo Queens General manager Rollanson Odeh, have also expressed confidence that Edo Queens will make the entire state proud.
“Thank God that the new season is about to begin, for us in Edo Queens we are ready, we just finished the Annual General Meeting AGM, we all unanimously agree that the league will commence November. So teams have to go back and put final touches to their preparations. It was a successful AGM. For me I think Edo Queens is a team to beat. But nevertheless is football, we just finish a pre- season tournament in Yenagoa, my technical crew will go back to work on the areas that needed to be worked on and then we are good to go”.
