As the 2023/24 Nigeria Women Football League NWFL Super six kickoff tomorrow Saturday May 28th, 2024 at the Samson Siasia Stadium Yenagua Bayelsa State, Edo Queens FC will be hosted by Confluence Queens FC of Kogi in the opening match of the day. Time for this epic clash is 10:00am prompt.
You could recall that when both teams met in last year’s Super at Asaba Edo Queens were edged out of the competition by Confluence Queens a devastating lone goal. This time round, Edo Queens could be going for a grudge match against Confluence Queens. The Moses Aduku- led side need nothing less than three points in this game.
Though in competition of this magnitude, no team is a pushovers because the six teams that made it to Super six are all potential NWFL premiership Champions. For Edo Queens, there will be no dull moment because they cannot forget so easily what happened to them in the previous edition. Bearing that in mind, Edo Queens are ready to play their hearts out to ensure a convincing win tomorrow.
Three matches will be played tomorrow. Nasarawa Amazons will be home to Heartland Queens, while the last match of the day will be between the two South South Sisters Rivers Angels against the host State Bayelsa Queens FC.
All matches will be played at the Samson Siasia Stadium Yenagua.
The competition is expected to end on the 26th. Champions of the NWFL will take part in CAF playoff in preparation for women’s champions League.
In match day two, Bayelsa Queens will host Nasarawa Amazons time is 10am prompt, the second game of the day will be between Edo Queens and Rivers Angels, time is 12.noon while the third match is Heartland Queens against Confluence Queens time is 2:00pm
In match day three, Nasarawa Amazons will do battle with Rivers Angels, time is 10:00am prompt, while the second game is between Confluence Queens and Bayelsa Queens, while Heartland will trade tackles with Edo Queens, time is 2:00pm.
For match day four, host team will take on Heartland Queens, Rivers Angels will do battle with Confluence Queens, Edo Queens will host Nasarawa Amazons by 2:00pm.
Three matches will also be played on the 26th, Confluence Queens will file out against Nasarawa Amazons, Heartland Queens will be on parade against Rivers Angels, while Bayelsa Queens will fight out with Edo Queens.
The six teams participating in this year’s edition are Bayelsa Queens, Confluence Queens, Edo Queens FC, Heartland Queens Rivers Angels and Nasarawa Amazons FC.
Each team is expected to play five matches.
At the end the team that wins four matches and also with the highest points will automatically be crown the new NWFL premiership Champions for 2023/24 season.
